PETRONAS entrusts my department with the responsibility to constantly improve the operations of the company's plants and electrical systems. Our efforts entail looking into ways to improve our existing technologies. We also seek out and acquire new technologies, best practices and standards from all over the world to assimilate them into our own systems.
PETRONAS believes in providing opportunities for its people to grow professionally through learnings gained from undertaking challenging tasks. One of my greatest challenges was back when I was a young and relatively inexperienced engineer in 1997; my team and I were tasked to develop the Centralised Utility Facilities (CUF) - the first of their kind in South East Asia.
Being entrusted by my superiors to be part of this project has given me priceless exposure to new negotiation cultures, mindsets and techniques from all over the world. The knowledge I gained from the experience has greatly benefited me, even to this day.
This unceasing effort to improve our performance is ingrained in every aspect of PETRONAS’ operations, and speaks volumes about the high standards to which the company holds itself.
