The Finance job functions in PETRONAS provide value-added services to PETRONAS Group of companies in the areas of Finance and Accounts.

The overarching aim of Finance is to be the Strategic Business Partner for the PETRONAS Group. We strive to develop competent and qualified employees with well-rounded financial knowledge, who are equipped with strong drive, integrity and leadership skills to deliver value to the PETRONAS Group. Towards this end, our structured in-house training and leadership programmes have been developed for all areas of Finance. In supporting staff progression, we also encourage mobility of employees across different areas of Finance and businesses every two to three years. Employees are strongly encouraged to obtain professional Finance/Accounting qualifications.

Treasury, Trade Finance and Corporate Finance Degree in Accounting and / or Finance or Economics Certified Financial Analyst (CFA)
Insurance and Risk Management Degree in Actuarial Science

Mohd Rozaiddin Zainon Hamzah
Finance & Accounts
  I am a manager in the Finance Division, and my current responsibilities include preparing accounts and management reports, ensuring internal controls and governance are in place and advising the management on financial and tax related matters.

The company has a very well-planned career-progression system. This is executed through various programmes designed to give staff the training they need for optimum professional growth.


PETRONAS also empowers staff members to apply their newfound knowledge at work. For example, the company has entrusted me with the task of helping to set up 3 new Operating Units (OPUs) over the years, including 2 overseas ventures. I was responsible for setting up overall Finance, Procurement, Human Resources and Administration policies and procedures including documentation and reports. The practical experience I have gained from these opportunities both augmented and enhanced what I have learned in training and further developed me into the oil and gas professional that I am today.

I feel blessed to be working with a company that gives me every opportunity to grow and improve myself professionally.
