My responsibilities at PETRONAS encompass analyses and studies relating to geology and geophysics, plus operational and functional tasks in oil and gas exploration activities.
When I started at PETRONAS, there was initial nervousness about working in a male dominated business environment. However, I soon discovered that my apprehension was unwarranted.
PETRONAS has a very warm, supportive and nurturing working culture. It is the ideal workplace for me - providing the resources, facilities and environment to help me develop my knowledge and pursue my passion in geology. This was something that greatly appealed to me back when I was a young geoscientist; even now, with years of experience under my belt, my workplace is still a joy to come back to day after day.
Another factor that makes PETRONAS a great place to work is the stringent health and safety measures put in place by the company. It is good to know that the company I work for cares so much for my well-being.
This concern for staff well-being extends beyond work, as PETRONAS actively encourages all of us to maintain a healthy work life balance. At any one time, I can choose from a wide variety of social programmes to participate in, which covers everything from sports to community service.
