Materials, Corrosion and Inspection
In Materials, Corrosion and Inspection, we provide technical services in each respective discipline to improve project life cycle costs, ensure the reliability and safety of facilities, create competitive advantage and add value to projects and assets.
This job area requires people with a high degree of professional competency, multi-disciplinary knowledge, as well as a strong drive and good interpersonal skills. 10 to 20 years of experience in oil and gas industry in specialised fields such as Materials Engineering, Materials Performance and Degradation, Welding Technology, Materials Manufacturing and Processes, Materials Testing and Verification and Engineering Materials Selection and Application
Preferably candidates who posses API 579 certificate |
| Corrosion Engineer |
Degree in Engineering preferably in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Structural / Civil, Chemical Engineering, Corrosion Engineering or Metallurgy
|
Registered with Board of Engineers, Malaysia
10 to 20 years of experience in oil and gas industry in specialised fields such as Corrosion Engineering, Corrosion Testing and Monitoring, Cathodic and Anodic Protection, Corrosion Inhibition and Chemical Treatments, Protective Coatings and Linings and Corrosion Management
Preferably candidates who posses NACE certificate |
| Inspection Engineer |
Degree in Engineering preferably in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Structural / Civil or Chemical Engineering

Registered with Board of Engineers, Malaysia
10 to 20 years of experience in oil and gas industry in specialised fields such as Fired and Unfired Pressure Vessel Inspection, Pipeline and Piping Inspection, Welding Technology, Atmospheric Tank Inspection, Hoisting & Lifting Equipment Inspection and Non Destructive Testing
Preferably candidates who posses API 510, API 570 and API 653 certificate |

I am responsible for inspecting PETRONAS’ facilities to ensure that everything meets established codes and standards in terms of safety and performance.
While this is a challenging task, it is made easier by the great work environment offered by PETRONAS. The excellent management system we have ensures a clear demarcation of responsibilities and I am always provided with a clear path towards resolving any challenge that I may face during the course of my work.
In addition to the operational systems, the people I work with also contribute greatly to the working culture that I enjoy. There is always amazing teamwork throughout the organisation; everyone is ever willing to go above and beyond to get a job done.
On top of this, my co workers are always generous when it comes to sharing of technical knowledge and experiences. This, in addition to formal training provided by the company, has greatly accelerated the development of my professional capabilities.
