Prakash Kumar Karunakaran
Process Technology & Operations
I am the Custodian Engineer for Advanced Process Control - a field whose sole objective is to optimise the operations at PETRONAS’ facilities through the application of advanced technologies - ensuring that they always operate at peak performance levels.

The development of technological capability is just one way in which PETRONAS strives to continually be at the top of its game. Another is the development of human capital.

This is reflected in another of my key responsibilities, which is to conduct training sessions for PETRONAS staff, aimed at increasing their level of technical proficiency and helping them to understand how best to apply new technological advancements in their daily tasks.

As I help to develop the talent within the company, I have also enjoyed significant growth myself. This is not just in terms of technical skill and career advancement, but also in terms of maturity and leadership through my role as a trainer and mentor, as well as on a personal and social level from the strong network of friends and colleagues I have built. I feel like a valued member of the PETRONAS family and hope to continue to make positive contributions towards its growth.
