Project Management
The Project Management team in PETRONAS has the challenging task of integrating various functions like planning scope, schedules, costs, quality management, human resource allocation and risk identification in ensuring successful delivery of projects. We are involved in key stages ranging from project designs, procurement plans and compilation requirements of projects to quality control, financials and overall management of timely project execution and completion.

In this job area, our employees are team players – we cooperate and work closely with one another, sharing resources and information to enhance work quality and delivery of projects. It is important for staff to be able to adapt quickly, demonstrate understanding of PETRONAS’ business objectives and align one’s work towards meeting those objectives.

The Project Management job area comprises these sub-disciplines:

Engineering Review and Control
Procurement Implementation and Management
Construction / Installation Monitoring, Supervision and Control
Inspection Management and Quality Control
Cost and Schedule Control and Forecasting
HSE Monitoring, Implementation and Control
Commissioning and Start Up

Project Management

I am responsible for providing technical direction in the deployment of control systems, processes and tools for PETRONAS’ projects. I apply my expertise to help ensure that that the company delivers superior value that is on par with leading industry standards.

In return, PETRONAS invests its considerable resources in me - giving me the mentoring and training I need to enhance my competency, both in terms of technical skills and management abilities. Thanks to the professional development I enjoyed, I have developed in the area of my expertise and am able to make even more significant contributions to the company.

By giving my best to PETRONAS, I am also contributing towards advancing the national agenda of developing Malaysia's petroleum resources and harnessing it for the betterment of the people. The sense of pride and fulfillment that comes from this is infinitely more rewarding than anything that a mere job can offer.
