Petroleum Engineering
My journey with PETRONAS began when I was awarded an education sponsorship opportunity. I pursued Petroleum Engineering and upon completion of my undergraduate studies, I answered the call to contribute back to the company and also the country.

As a drilling engineer, I plan, design, and monitor well drilling activities. I help the geological group at specific locations and targets that they want to get to as fast and as safely as possible.

From the title of my job – Drilling Engineer – I received a lot of cheers and jeers. People found it hard to believe that I am one. After all, 10 years ago, drilling engineering was solely dominated by men, not petite girls in skirts and high heels. When I first joined this department, most of them doubted I could cope. It has been nearly three years, but I'm still standing strong.

Drilling Engineering sounds like rocket science. It is actually not so difficult once you get the hang of it. It does however; keep me on my toes, especially when issues arise during operations. That’s what makes the job interesting and challenging.
