Project Management
The Project Management team in PETRONAS has the challenging task of integrating various functions like planning scope, schedules, costs, quality management, human resource allocation and risk identification in ensuring successful delivery of projects. We are involved in key stages ranging from project designs, procurement plans and compilation requirements of projects to quality control, financials and overall management of timely project execution and completion.
In this job area, our employees are team players – we cooperate and work closely with one another, sharing resources and information to enhance work quality and delivery of projects. It is important for staff to be able to adapt quickly, demonstrate understanding of PETRONAS’ business objectives and align one’s work towards meeting those objectives.

From the day I joined PETRONAS Penapisan Melaka Sdn Bhd, I was assigned to PSR-2 Revamp Project, the largest revamp project PETRONAS has taken on. As part of the project management team, I played roles such as Project Services Executive and Project Tender Committee Secretary, which require a great deal of management and people skills.
I’m passionate about what I am doing now, and I believe I have gone through a very steep learning curve with all the tasks that I’ve been assigned to.
PETRONAS has always been committed to developing staff. Through the formation of PETRONAS Management Training Centre and PETRONAS Technical Training Institute (INSTEP), PETRONAS is able to ensure that the training needs of employees are assessed and competency gaps are addressed, to the extent that Skill Group Trainings are essential for career progression - something rarely implemented by other private organisations.
Personally, I feel that PETRONAS has been an ideal platform for building a successful career because it is serious about developing all its employees to be well-versed in technical and other areas. Through this continuous effort, I strongly believe I will be able to build a successful career in this organisation.
