Supply Chain Management
Supply Chain Management (SCM) supports key businesses in PETRONAS by managing and providing access to the best and most cost-effective resources and specialised requirements. Amongst other functions, our teams plan, strategise, source and manage relationships with contractors and suppliers to gain a sustained competitive advantage.

Our employees come from diverse backgrounds such as Engineering, Information Technology, Legal, Finance and Business. Good interpersonal skills are valued as we will engage with various stakeholders such as end-users from plant operations, plant maintenance, project teams, suppliers and contractors. Applicants may also look forward to opportunities to support the various businesses within the Group in Malaysia as well as internationally.

As a Strategic Sourcing Analyst, my work requires me to come up with Sourcing Strategies for upstream activities. The areas I’m heavily involved in are drilling rigs and marine vessels. I need to have the ability to absorb information, understand market situations, analyse problems, make facts-based decisions and propose innovative solutions.

Every day is like a new adventure. There are so many exciting things to explore and discover, like the latest technologies, new players in the industry, new equipment and materials and even new terminologies. I meet people from diverse backgrounds, from senior drilling engineers to marine captions to be able to leverage on their expertise. I have even been able to build up my confidence in public speaking by regularly presenting strategy papers to the management.
